Homemade Granola

Homemade Granola

Gotta be honest with you guys, I had never ever done granola before, yes I admit it and it's something I've been wanting to do for so long cause it's one of those homestyle treats that remind you of home. Always something came up until just about two months ago when I finally had the time to work on my granola. I know what you must the thinking, you bake for a living and this is what you've been desiring to bake for so long? The answer is YES!. What can I say. I love making homemade granola. It's one of those things that's so simple, but which just feels really satisfying for some reason. Remind you at what your grandma used to make. And that's all I want to do. Bake things that feels like home while.

The other cool thing about it is that it's absolutely easy to personalize or adjust. You can add as many ingredients as you want with different flavours and textures and make it your own perfect favorite granola to put on your daily meals.  I mean, not a day goes by without me putting some of my granola on my oatmeal, yogurt or even PIES.

Prefer maple syrup or molasses or all honey or brown sugar? Go for it! They all work. Or skip the spices. Or swap in a different extract (orange or almond would both be lovely).

Add crunchy banana chips or dried pineapple or coconut. Use all berries or add huge spoonfuls of chocolate chips. As long as you keep the proportions the same, you're pretty much golden.

And it's perfect for anything you want it to be. It could be your meal in the morning, your dessert during the night or it can be that little gift you give to someone you love.

That's the beauty of homestyle granola. And I finally did it and let me tell you, after testing many but many recipes and adding or skipping tons of different ingredients, I did it. I made the granola that makes me the happiest. Crunchy, not overly sweet, chocolatey in parts. You get the idea. For me is perfect and I hope you love it as much as I do.

XOXO Nicole
