During the Holiday Season we are always looking for ideas of what to give the people we love. I say, let's give them cookies. Find the cookie your person loves, wrap them beautifully and put it under the tree for Christmas Morning. No joke we leave cookies for Santa. It's a delicious and very thoughtful gift cause you are giving them somethimg you know tastes amazing and they gonna love.
Here’s my own version of a Holiday Cookie Box
- Pick a variety of cookies.“I like the idea of a box that has an assortment of cookies, plus some surprise treats. Include cookies with a variety of shapes, from simple and classic oatmeal cookies to gingerbread man cookies. Play with a range of textures and flavors, including chewy and crispy. Color, your box needs all the color you can use- like my red velvet macarons or my raspberry jam shortbread cookie. Use peppermint sticks, holiday sprinkles and your favorite candies to add more goodies to this box.
- Add a personal touch. Remember, the way I see it we are sharing not just cookies but memories, too. I like to include cookies that represent a part of my family and culture. That’s why I include Turron in my box which is a type of nougat confection made with almonds very common in Puerto Rico and very delicious.
- Build your box. I started with a simple cardstock box, try to be creative and make your own dividers to separate your cookies. You can use cardboard wrapped in parchment paper liners. Use whatever comes to your mind. I used fresh cranberries to separate the cookies and add some color to my box. Remember is handmade cookie box. Stack the cookies, pile them up, tie them together with twine, do whatever - it’s all about breaking up the pattern. And that’s it, you got yourself the perfect holiday gift.
Hopes you'll find this very helpful during your festivities.
